On 1 April, the Mercabarna Training Area will organise an instructive session to provide information to companies in the Food Unit on the services offered to them in matters of food safety, with the Observatory of Food Safety and the School of Prevention and Integral Safety and Security.

Although these have been isolated incidents closely related to the current economic crisis, the management at Mercabarna has decided to adopt a full series of measures to strengthen security and prevent this type of crime.
A delegation of exporting producers from the Republic of Argentina’s meat and fruit and vegetable sectors visited Mercabarna on 10 February.
On 21 January, the agreement was finally signed which will permit Mercabarna businesses to continue operating in the Food Unit beyond 2017, the year their precinct contracts expire.
