The mayor visited the new market accompanied by Juan A. Tamayo, deputy mayor for Territorial and Civic Affairs, Joan Sáez, head of Activity Licences, and Sònia García, chief of protocol for Sant Boi Town Council.

Accompanied by Montserrat Gil de Bernabé, managing director of Mercabarna, and Lluís Alberich, its Industrial and Services manager, Mr Bosch explored the centre’s different sections and verified how they have been adapted to the particularities of the different products that will be commercialised there (flowers, plants and accessories). He also visited the area which will house the offices, floral art schools, handling rooms, meeting rooms, guild and association headquarters, restaurant and cafeteria, and so on.

The mayor also observed that the building work is very much on course, since Mercabarna-flor is scheduled to open its doors in September.

Meeting with the mayor of El Prat de Llobregat
On 4 July, Ms Gil de Bernabé and Mr Alberich met with Lluís Tejedor, mayor of El Prat de Llobregat, and Juan Rodríguez, director of the Financial Promotion Service for El Prat de Llobregat Town Council, with the purpose of informing them about the progress of the building work on Mercabarna-flor and to invite them to the official opening of this market on 5 October.
