Institutional delegations from Oporto, New York and China have visited the Food Unit over the last few months. On 14 November, several politicians and civil servants from the metropolitan area of Oporto showed their interest in different aspects of the management of the enclosure, focussing largely on environmental issues.

On 20 November it was the turn of the director of the New York Economic Development Agency, who came to find out about the growth of the Complementary Activities Zone and the synergies created with the Markets, in order to promote a similar model in the wholesale market in New York, the Hunts Point Produce Market, located in the Bronx.

Finally, at the end of November members of the Council for the Chinese province of Zhejiang visited Mercabarna to find out about its management model. An institutional delegation from the town of Putian, also in China, was in the Food Unit on 18 December for the same purpose.
