Mercabarna management is learning the way other European wholesale markets work in order to see new experiences that can help them improve, particularly with regard to international produce distribution.
Different managers from the Food Unit visited the Saint Charles Market in Perpignan, a major logistics centre in terms of exports to the rest of Europe, in late April.
The managers also used the trip to visit the Medfel fruit and vegetable trade show (held in the same French city), to learn more about the types of exhibitors and visitors it attracts and to assess whether Mercabarna and its fruit and vegetable operators should take part in the future.
