Josep Tejedo, Mercabarna managing director since March, is the new chair of the Barcelona Food Cluster Association, replacing Montserrat Gil de Bernabé, former managing director of the Food Unit.

The appointment was made at the assembly meeting of 17 May attended by three of the four founding partners -Mercabarna, the Mercabarna Concessionaires’ Association (ASSOCOME), the Zona Franca Consortium and 22@ Barcelona- and the heads of around 15 associated food businesses (a total of 25 companies). At the meeting, attendees also agreed to encourage the incorporation of new businesses and to foster actions that contribute to knowledge-sharing among members to strengthen project creation.
