Led by the Prince and Princess of Asturias and including the president of the Government of Catalonia, Artur Mas; Barcelona mayor, Xavier Trias; and the Spanish minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Miguel Arias Cañete, among others, the group stopped by the stand, where Mercabarna chair Sònia Recasens and managing director Josep Tejedo were waiting.

The group learnt about the two projects Mercabarna was presenting at the event to promote the agrofood business sector in Barcelona (the Food Cluster Association and the Food Platform).
On a separate visit, the Catalan minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food and Natural Environment, Josep Maria Pelegrí, also visited the Mercabarna area at the fair.
