The 4th International Green Med Forum, an annual event organised by the prestigious publication Green Med Journal that brings together parties involved in the fruit and vegetable sector from across the Mediterranean, was held in Tunisia from 28 to 30 September.

Around 160 sector professionals from institutions, wholesale markets, logistics firms, opinion leaders, producers and exporters took part in the Forum, which dealt primarily with quality and logistics in fruit and vegetable marketing.

Mercabarna managing director Montserrat Gil de Bernabé gave a speech on the role of wholesale markets as guarantors of the quality and safety of fresh produce. She discussed the work done at Mercabarna by the team of veterinarians from the Barcelona Public Health Agency, the wholesale operators and the Market itself.
