Mercabarna and the Barcelona and Province Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers Business Association (AGEM) took part in the TV3 Marathon broadcast on 19 December.

The two organisations have been supporting the fundraiser since it began 19 years ago.

This year the collaboration took the form of providing the fruit for the lunch offered to the nearly 2,500 volunteers who took part.

The 2010 Marathon raised over seven million euros for research into spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury.
