Frimercat, the cold storage service company in which Central Fish Market companies have a controlling stake, has had a new chair as of July. The former chair, Carlos Salvador, has been succeeded by Josep Roqueta, manager of the fish company Juan Roqueta e hijos and a member of the Frimercat board of directors.

Carlos Salvador managed Frimercat since its founding in 1991. In this period, the company has progressively enlarged its facilities within Mercabarna, increasing its cold storage capacity from 22,000 m3 to 125,000 m3. In addition, this firm has seen to fish unloading in the Market since 1998. Mr Salvador will continue with Frimercat as a company board member.
