One was the 7th Supermaduixa Super Party, a recreational event organised by the supermarket chain Sorli Discau which drew around 4,000 children. Mercabarna and the AGEM set up a “5 A Day” stand at the party to encourage the consumption of fruit and vegetables among the attending public. The second was the Schools’ Biathlon and Triathlon, sporting competitions organised by Barcelona City Council, where the two associations provided fruit for the 5,000 boys and girls who took part.

Collaboration with Agricultural Shows
Mercabarna once again took part in the Sant Isidre de Viladecans Show, the Papiol and Torrelles de Llobregat Cherry Fairs and the Gavà Asparagus Show, handing out awards to farmers who took part in the events and organising other activities. Mercabarna also awarded a distinction to an asparagus farming family at the closing dinner of the Gavà Show.
