The main project the agreement covers concerns studying ways to incorporate sustainability and energy-efficiency criteria into future architectural projects at Mercabarna. The study will be undertaken by students enrolled in the master’s course entitled “Architecture and Sustainability: Design Tools and Environmental Control Techniques”. The end-of-course project involves coming up with designs to revamp the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market that include general sustainability and energy-efficiency strategies.
