Since the end of 2009, Mercabarna has been collaborating with Saó, a reflection group that seeks to foster discussion and dissemination of the situation of the rural world and agrofood sector. This joint endeavour is the result of the agreement signed by Montserrat Gil de Bernabé, managing director of Mercabarna, and Francesc Cribillers, director of the Rural World Foundation, the organisation that represents this group.
The agreement will see Mercabarna provide the group with know-how and experience in the field of the wholesale trade and distribution of fresh produce, with the aim of expanding and enriching activities and promoting discussion related to Catalan agricultural development.
