The Mercabarna fruit and vegetable sector participates in Fruit Attraction

The fruit and vegetable show Fruit Attraction, organised by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants (FEPEX) and IFEMA, was held in Madrid between 4 and 6 November. This is the first time this event has been held, and it brought together representatives of the fruit and vegetable production and distribution sectors all over Spain. The fair had more than 320 exhibitors, including institutions, businesses and public bodies. Mercabarna and the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Dealers of Barcelona and Province (AGEM) organised the joint participation of 7 companies from the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, which took up a 128-m2 space in the Catalonia-Prodeca area. The companies participating were: Hermanos Fernández López, Cultivar, Gavà Grup, Grupo Diego Martínez, Frutas Escandell, Laumont and Central Dica.

Speeches of interest to the sector
Technical seminars were held during the fair, in which professionals and experts from the sector dealt with aspects of fruit and vegetable production and distribution, and the consumption of these products. Mercabarna’s contribution was a lecture entitled “The Importance of Added Value and Service in the International Fruit and Vegetable Trade”, by Joaquim Ros, manager of Markets and Promotion at Mercabarna.
