Future restaurant professionals in Mercabarna
3rd April 2008
Every year, future hospitality sector professionals visit Mercabarna as part of their study programme. Once the academic course finishes in June, close to 1,200 students from universities and restaurant schools will have toured the Food Unit, at Mercabarna management’s invitation.
For most of these centres, this visit is a consolidated part of their training offer. Such is the case of the CETT Hotel and Tourism School, which brought its Master’s students in Commercial Restaurant Management to Mercabarna for the sixth consecutive year. Other regular visitors include the students of Hostelry and Hotel Management at the prestigious Sant Pol de Mar University School of Hostelry and Tourism, and those pursuing Nutrition studies at Ramon Llull University. The two groups came on 2 and 3 April respectively.
Other centres were added to the roster of Mercabarna guests this month. Newcomers included students registered in Vic University’s Master’s programme in ‘Food Quality and Safety: Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HACCP)’ and those from the Business Administration School which jointly offers a Master’s in Logistics Chain Management with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
