Mercabarna-flor’s New Restaurant Opens Its Doors

On 30 March Mercabarna-flor’s new restaurant, called Lore (Flower in the Basque language), opened its doors to customers. Located on the upper floor of the Market and with an impressive view of the cut flower sales area, Lore seats 150 people, has private dining rooms for large celebrations and other smaller rooms so that small groups can enjoy a quiet meal.

In addition, it has a terrace that will delight Mercabarna-flor users with the arrival of spring. Restaurant manager Joaquín Ciarsolo intends to give “the finest service to all Mercabarna-flor users”. To do this, the restaurant’s opening hours will match those of the Market. Furthermore, although the daily specials will officially be served as of 1:00 p.m. (Mondays to Fridays, since daily specials are not served on Saturdays and the restaurant is closed on Sundays), the restaurant is also ready to serve meals well before this time.

Lore will offer market cuisine, “And little by little we will add Basque dishes,” explains Mr Ciarsolo, a Basque native who came to Catalonia to play pelota vasca in 1975 and decided to stay on. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Ciarsolo has made a strong commitment to Lore, and knows that the restaurant has to welcome new clientele. Employees of the Mas Blau business park and the airport and, it goes without saying, all Mercabarna users who want to eat well at a reasonable price (the daily special menu, full of variety, is priced at 10 euros) in a singular building and with the highest concentration of flowers in the area, should not miss the opportunity of enjoying an altogether pleasant dining experience at Lore.
