First Companies to Extend Their Presence at Mercabarna

During the month of March, two Mercabarna companies were the first to sign new contracts renewing their concessions. This means that these companies will be able to continue performing their activities at the Food Unit beyond 2017, when their contracts in the precinct expire.

The signing of these new contracts has been possible thanks to a historic agreement signed last January, which enabled companies to extend their presence in these facilities for a minimum of 35 years.

The first company to sign was the greengrocer chain Fruits Sa2p, which has had a warehouse in the precinct since the mid-1990s. On 5 March, the new contract was signed before the company’s managing director, Salvador Rodrigo, and Mercabarna's managing director, Montserrat Gil de Bernabé.

On 9 March, it was the turn of Garfar, a company belonging to the G.V. Zamorano group, dedicated to the handling and distribution of potatoes. The firm’s director, Miguel García, signed this document, which extends the concession for the two warehouses that this company has at Mercabarna.
