Mr Carnes underlined how important competitiveness and the proper operation of Mercabarna businesses are to facilitating and speeding up the entry of fresh produce through the city’s port and airport.

Improvements to the facilities have already been made since last summer, with extended working hours, increased staff and renewed BIP infrastructures at the port. Moreover, this package of measures also envisions 24-hour services in the not-too-distant future.
