The walkways are located by the revolving doors for pedestrians that were installed in Mercabarna in July to facilitate the mobility of the employees of Mercabarna businesses with warehouses on the land adjoining the precinct, known as 22AL.

This measure seeks to ensure the safety of employees who cross the thoroughfare on a regular basis, since the raised walkways force vehicles to reduce their speed. 

These are the first raised pedestrian walkways to be built inside the Zona Franca. If the experience proves positive, the Consortium will study the possibility of building further walkways of this type in other secondary streets in the industrial estate.
