Mercabarna was represented by the head of the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, Josep Faura.

During the visit, attendees toured the firm’s banana plantations and saw the warehouses where bananas are cleaned, selected and packed in line with customer demand. Bargosa also launched its new banana brand, Las Gabaceras, a variety certified by Globalgap in acknowledgement of food-safety and environmentally friendly regulations having been met. Globalgap certification is required to market products in some European countries.
