We at Mercabarna want to welcome local farmers and let you know about the different options available to growers to sell their products through Mercabarna.

With around 300,000 tonnes of local fruit and vegetables sold annually throughout the Food Unit, Mercabarna represents a very important marketing channel for local farming. Being part of it, in one way or another, provides access to this large market made up of local, domestic and international customers.

The Farmers' Market

The Mercabarna Farmers' Market is the area set aside for the direct sales from local farmers. The area is subdivided into 105 spaces that farmers can book on the days they want according to their needs. You can book as many spaces as you want.

Coming to sell directly at the Farmers' Market lets you:

• Market the products directly and have direct contact with the customer.
• Contact other farmers in the Farmers' Market and the wholesalers and cooperatives that operate in Mercabarna.
• Gain first-hand knowledge of the price evolution of the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market.

Incentives for new growers

If you are a local farmer, Mercabarna offers the following incentives for new additions to the Farmers' Market:

• 100% discount on the cost of the space for 6 months (maximum 3 spaces)
• 100% discount on the annual subscription card rate for access to Mercabarna for 6 months.
